King Saud University (KSU) established in 1957/58 and was expanded to include all kinds of faculties and disciplines in the year 1969/70. The main objectives of KSU are to educate and provide students with different knowledge and skills, to prepare individual to be a useful element in building the society, to gain knowledge through conducting and encouraging scientific researches and to develop cultural, sport, social and scientific activities.

KSU was invited to participate in the consortium as an observer and dissemination contributor. They do not receive any financial support from the EU in case the project is carried out.This kind of project is very important for the Arabian region and gives KSU a real opportunity to exchange ideas and information on wastewater treatment and promote cooperation in this area. KSU contributes in providing professional information, exchange ideas and views associated with the project strategies. They also contribute to disseminate the project outcomes in the region and perform an assessment of the applicability of the project findings in his region. Overall, their cooperation will contribute to widen the impact of the project in arid areas outside the Mediterranean basin.
