New Energy Efficient Approach to the Operation of Membrane Bioreactors for Decentralised Wastewater Treatment

BIOAZUL is a young company established in Málaga (Southern Spain) who is specialised in Innovation and R&D consulting, engineering consulting and commercialisation of innovative products in the fields of wastewater and soil remediation.

The highly qualified staff of BIAZUL is composed by economists, scientists and engineers that have an extensive experience in the preparation and management of R&D projects including EC funded ones with large amount of partners such as several Thematic Networks. The management of the project includes not only the performance of the technical work but also the administrative management (financial controlling, preparation of official reports, preparation of meetings and other events, etc.)BIOAZUL work as well as a research company and has performed R&D activities in the fields of environmentally sound agriculture, soil remediation, water and wastewater management, renewable energy and energy efficiency. At the moment BIOAZUL sees a large potential for the implantation of cost-effective MBR wastewater treatment plants in Spain as a way to amend the lack of fresh water resources that the Mediterranean region pf the country is suffering at present. BIOAZUL contributes to the calculation the costs of running a full-scale MBR system integrating the operating procedures proposed in the project. It also considers the possibility to undertake its exploitation if the project is successful and an agreement will be reached with the other partners.
